Our Double length flight offers a much greater opportunity for an exploration flight. When the conditions allow we are able to fly for miles along the south downs or coastal cliffs. This flight option provides us with enough time to go on a bit of an adventure and visit parts of the coastline that only other pilots get to see.
As with all our flights they are instructional by nature. Therefore this double length flight option allows us to give you a deeper understanding of the equipment we use and the sport of gliding. In suitable conditions you will get a chance to fly the glider yourself with an onboard instructor giving you real time tuition.
Flying silently above the South Downs or white chalk cliffs of Beachy Head for 40 minutes is a sublime experience. It truly can be magic, I have flown thousands of flights and I still love it. However, it is worth mentioning that no matter how much enjoyment you as the passenger will get from your flight your audience (later at home) might struggle to sit through a 40 minute video of the entire flight.
This is why booking an Edited video may be worth paying a little extra. We condense the flight down to around 3-4 minutes and add a song to make it an enjoyable watch. The songs we use must be free of royalties and copyrights. If you would like to find your own (copyright free) song and send it to us we will be happy to edit to your video otherwise we will find one for you.
If you wish you can do your own filming at no extra cost, the only requirement is that the camera must be tethered (so you cant drop it) and it must be small enough for you to tuck inside your jacket/clothing for the take of and landing.
